Broadgate Concept and Process

The Broadgate Concept:

The Broadgate Concept of treatment is to provide patients with individualised best evidence synthesis care including both traditional medicine and specialist care from allied health professionals. When you are being seen by a Broadgate Specialist you are in reality being exposed to a large number of healthcare professionals due to the fact that all practitioners at Broadgate strive to refer you to the most relevant type of care as soon as possible. Cooperation and communication between the staff at Broadgate provide for quick and effective cross referral – when required.

The Broadgate Spine & Joint Clinic was established by Mr Peter Hamlyn, consultant spinal surgeon, Dr Gerard Hall, consultant rheumatologist and Dr Alan Jordan, chiropractor.

Our clinical team is unique both as regards to quality and diversity.

Patients will receive relevant and specific care that is appropriate to their condition. This may involve only seeing one practitioner or several, depending upon the treatment required and progress being made.

We offer on site blood tests and x-ray. MRI and CT scans are arranged locally and at short notice.

The clinic has a newly fitted gym with the latest Pilates equipment.

Our medical consultants all have positions in leading private and NHS hospitals should additional services be required.

The Broadgate Process:

Patients seeing medical consultants will usually be referred by their general practitioners, other medical consultants or other health professionals at Broadgate.

Patients seeing our chiropractors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, medical acupuncturist or others are usually but not always referred by their general practitioners or medical consultants.

The Broadgate Process is that after the initial evaluation, which may have been carried out by one of the medical consultants or another member of staff, you will either receive care from the individual that has seen you initially or you will be referred to the most appropriate clinician as soon as possible. This process makes a wide range of skills and treatment options being available to the patient. Patients will often be seen by more than one professional during their course of treatment. A typical example would be a consultant carrying out an initial evaluation and referring on to physiotherapy for rehabilitation. Conversely, a physiotherapist or chiropractor may require the services of a consultant and will refer you to the appropriate consultant accordingly. On occasion more than two practitioners will be involved in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
